Interact Probationer's Seminar
I bet you all are thinking, what a noob to go for this
Haha, rot in hell if you're thinking that. Seminar rocked, at least in my opinion.
Most people I questioned said that it didn't rock...Cause well, their group was quiet. I think among my group as a whole, our avenue was the loudest. Thanks to me, as you people know, am exceptionally loud.
Fair warning: No pics. Don't expect anything
Day started off with me arriving at Sri Aman like half an hour earlier than expected. Bleugh. If I had known would arrive so early, I wouldn't bother waking up at like 6sth. There was no traffic jam from my house to SA...Bitch. Haha! It took like 15 minutes.
Arrived at SA and spotted Neeti and JoAnn...Sorry, I forgot how to spell your name. Don't kill me. Followed them in and sesated in one corner of the carpark.
People arrived.
Moving on.
Registration.
Sitting my bottom on a chair.
Rotarian advisors enter and speech.
ICC head speech.
Off to our seperate groups of I can remember how many. I was green though. I'm always green. Yay! Environment!
Then, the fun part.
Ice-breaking among our group: Public Caning.
I got selected on the last round. I managed to remember all names but one. T.T
As punishment, I sang Assunta's school song. Semangat sekolah baybeh!
Then it was seperation into avenues. I got Community Service which is my second choice if I was BOD. First choice is IU.
I was put into Com. Service along with lemme see if I can remember all eleven names: Hmm, Amy, Elisha, Yi Jane, Sarah, Lingesh, Matthew, Nik, Yusri, Choon Huang (Is that how you spell it?), I forgot the other one. I only remember face and that he's an Indian. SORRY! Gomene!
Hah! I managed ten names, which is good.
So, our community service project was Orphanage Week Out...Originally, it was Adopt-An-Orphan-For-A-Day but they changed it. Oh well, it's not me to say whether they can change my idea or not. It's a group decision.
So, we opted to take the orphans for a week out. Technically, it wasn't a week. It was 5 days. Activities done are: Visit to the zoo, A picnic, A game of futsal, Random carolling (I wonder who so dumbly selected this:P Didn't make sense...Was the worst proposal there) and tutoring.
Save to say, everyone in my group co-operated fairly well. I made the most noise as usual. Hehe. :P Alright, since this is going to be a private blog and not many people are going to read it, I'm going to go ahead and say that I didn't quite like Elisha.
It's not that she's not a nice person. In fact, she's super nice but she didn't quite let anybody have a say. She contradicted all my ideas and replaced them with her own. And Amy, who was writing wrote down whatever she said instead of me.
Focusing on being modest and not a bossy person, I let her be and hoped that this attitude of hers wouldn't interfere with her normal attitude of friendliness. She's a good person but when it comes to this kind of thing, she kiasu sikit.
They did take my initial idea so I guess that I have to let other people voice out.
Okay, on to next part. Obviously, we won. Yay for us! Com. Service and our guidance Interactor: Mun Wai (I think that's how you spell it)
And our prize:
To present it in front of all six schools and their BOD's.
Obviously, we won that too!
Yeah baybeh!
Other teams kena tembak teruk-teruk. We kena tembak like to questions and we aced the questions. At least in my opinion.
So, that's about it for Seminar, I guess.
To all incoming probationers or those who are thinking of joining Interact next year but are having quelms, join Interact. I swear you wouldn't be disappointed.
And go for the Seminar.
And when segegrated into groups, if no one speaks and are shy, be the first to speak up. I swear you wouldn't regret doing so.
I did and I do not regret it at all. I've made a new group of friends and I still have the happiness and fun running through my veins.
Viva La Interact!
Lyn
