Tekam: Day 1
Tuesday, November 11, 2008 @ 11:06 PM
First and foremost, I would like to say that I have no pictures and the three days of Tekam that will be blogged here are all words. Capice? Yay!

We left school at 9 something AM and reeeeched Tekam at about twelve something I guess. The bus driver was terrible. It was as if he couldn't drive. Everytime he drove, it was as if he couldn't go in a straight line and he kept bumping us up and down. I was so dizzy and contracted a headache that led to a migrane-later, of course.
Then, we went for the kelapa sawit plantation tour that was much more interesting than the one last year but we didn't visit the centre where they showed the process of selecting the right seeds and all that stuff to do with processing it. This guy looked similar to the guy last year but this guy wasn't mean and evil and rude:P
I don't really remember much about all his explaination and if I wrote it down here, I doubt anyone would bother reading it, right?
Then, he opened up the cocoa thingy which the guy last year didn't because there were none that weren't rotten or dead. So, lucky for those who went this year and that. We tasted the thingy inside the cocoa thing which looked like mangosteen but tasted like soursop.
It also had a huge seed inside like a mangosteen but we couldn't eat that and when the guy, whose name is Azmi bit it in half, the inside was purple in colour.
He wanted to show us the owl but when he shook the owl post, nothing flew out. He said that it might have shifted home...so, unlucky for us that we didn't get to see it.
After that, we had lunch and then went back to our chalets and so unluckily, I terkena my period! Right after lunch. We went swimming during that time from after the plantation tour to about 5:30 to 6. I didn't go swimming last year and if I had, I wouldn't have met the idiot whom I currently loathe yet am trying to be friends with. (Most people would know who I'm talking about.)
Karen couldn't go swimming because of her foot but we still went and splashed water on her. Sorry Karen! There were all these guys at the pool and stared at us as if we were fried chicken and they hadn't eaten in days. A few were hawt but the way they stared totally put me off. Ugh!
Played Marco Polo for a while before I decided that I was bored and then swam to the side and talked to Karen and Manissha.
Left the pool at about 5:30. Went back to the chalet. Before we had no electricity. Now, we still didn't have electricity and had to show with cold water. Helped our neighbours with their shower since they had no idea how to turn it on. I fixeed ours too. Weeee! Neighbours: Melvina, Anushar, Kyrstl and Kanisha. Sorry if I spelled your names wrongly.
Then, we went for dinner. Got scolded, technically, not scolded but punished for being late. Us and neighbours.
After dinner, we waited for night walk.
Night walk:
We were divided into our drama groups. None of us wanted to be first so I squeezed in front with Loshni and Cynthia. It wasn't as bad as last year where it was pitch black and freeeekishly dark. This year, we were lucky to have the moon out so it was actually pretty easy to see our way around. We were the second group to go in, the second last to come out.
At first, Loshni held the candle, then she passed it to Cynthia who in turn after a while, passed it to me. I held the candle the whole way out with Fong on my right, guiding me and Cynthia and Loshni in front of us, guiding us.
We managed to make it out easily without any problems. When we got out, wonderfully, our candle was the shortest. So short that I could barely hold it anymore. Lol.
Our chalet area still had no electricity and Miss Boey said that it would only come on at 10 PM. Boy, were we mad. We went for supper which was okay. Coffee and a currypuff filled with some kind of udang thingy and a cake which I couldn't identify the taste.
During makaning time, the electricity went off and during the nightwalk, I contracted the migraine which caused me to only have a few hours of sleep. No...about two hours or an hour or less.
I guess that's about it for the first day. P.S. I left out a lot of details. Sorry, lazy to elaborate
